How to play Air Hockey
Choose a round of Air Hockey and settle into its rules. Score seven goals before the computer. Check the relevant rule before repeating a move. Treat the first round as a chance to learn the controls. Keep the game area visible while you use its controls.
Move your paddle against a computer opponent and score through the opposite goal.
Focus on one rule
Choose one rule to keep in mind for this round. Apply it consistently rather than guessing what another version might allow. Make the next step deliberately.
Your goal
Score seven goals before the computer. The feedback beside the game helps you follow the round. Take a moment to understand the current position.
Step by step
- Start.
- Move your mallet within the lower half.
- Strike toward the upper goal.
- Goals reset the puck.
Controls
Mouse/touch movement or Left/Right controls. Use the control method described here for this activity. Use the visible help when you are unsure of the next input.
A useful example
An angled hit can bank off a side wall. Apply the same reasoning to the position in your own round. Verify the rule before continuing.
Watch out for this
You cannot move into the computer’s half. Check the rule before repeating the action. Take enough time to read a new position. If a game has a timer, learn its controls first rather than searching for them during the round.
